Toe in the Job Search Waters…

Having allocated Mondays to the job search, I made a very passive attempt at answering ads with my resume last week. Then, having received no response (last week) and panicking a bit, yesterday I put the search on the front burner and ACTUALLY wrote a cover letter. I then submitted the letter along with my resume to recruiters and agencies in London. And I’ve been fielding follow-up calls and interview requests all day. Things are looking up. And, for the record, I’m happy that I didn’t start looking sooner. The recruiters are now only slightly put-off that I’ll begin in October/November rather than immediately. I can’t imagine starting the process in January…or earlier. Ick!
Could use a few prayers and positive thoughts tomorrow as my interviews begin…

Exciting! L just got a job teaching English as a second language at a high school (she’d been rooting for Elementary) 10 minutes from the house. It’s going to be part-time for the first 10 days, but full time thereafter. Should be interesting!

She has been looking forward to a short commute for years after driving 23 miles each day… 😉

Congrats to L! Sorry it’s not Elementary-age, but a 10 minute commute is a dream! Hope all’s well…that little one must be growing up a storm…
