With the new job, we were low-key in November…allowing me time to adjust and relax. But, it’s cold outside and we are now in need of a new scene. AND I have 2 additional days’ leave that MUST be used by year end. SO. We’ve booked an extended weekend in Krakow, Poland (the new Prague, so we hear).
We’ll leave on the 8th and head back on the 11th. It’s a beautiful old town with gorgeous architecture, a Christmas market and lots of cafes and galleries. A perfect winter retreat. Auschwitz is nearby…but for selfish reasons, I can’t be sure if we’ll visit. We visited Dachau outside Munich last winter and, of course, the Hiroshima memorial in Japan in ’06…it’s good to go, learn and remember–but mentally and emotionally exhausting. Hmmm…
